Scientific Background :SCYL2 or SCY1-like 2 (S. cerevisiae) is an evolutionarily conserved protein involved in SNARE sorting that is essential for normal embryonic development (1). SCYL2 serves as a regulatory factor for Vpu (viral protein U) which reducing the extent of Vpu phosphorylation and consequently enhancing BST2-mediated viral restriction (2).
