Scientific Background :RIOK2 or RIO kinase 2 is a novel cytoplasmic component of pre-40S pre-ribosomal particle(s) in human cells which is required late 40S maturation at several distinct steps (1). RIOK2 regulates metaphase-anaphase transition during mitotic progression (2).
