Scientific Background :GRK4 or G protein-coupled receptor kinase 4 is a member of the guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G protein)-coupled receptor kinase subfamily of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family which phosphorylates the activated forms of G protein-coupled receptors thus initiating its deactivation and it also play an important role in receptor desensitization. GRK4 protein has kinase activity and that it interacts with and is inhibitable by calmodulin (1).GRK4 has been linked to both genetic and acquired hypertension. GRK4 is highly expressed in testis (2).
