Gene Aliases : Ubiquitin specific peptidase 46

Scientific Background : The ubiquitin-specific protease 46 (USP46) belongs to the ubiquitin-specific protease family, a subfamily of deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs) (1). USP46 requires the interaction with WDR48 to have a higher activity than by its own (2). The expression of USP46 is associated with PHLPP in colorectal patient cancer specimens and USP46 serves as a stabilizer of PHLPP via the suppression of Akt signaling pathway in colon cancer cells (3).
