Scientific Background :SNRK or sucrose non-fermenting related kinase is a member of the sucrose nonfermenting (SNF)-related kinase family of serine/threonine kinases which acts as a kinase and displays autophosphorylation activity (1). SNRK act as a substrate for the LKB1 tumor suppressor which phosphorylated SNRK at residue thr173 in which LKB1 is required for phosphorylation and activation of SNRK in HeLa cells and required STRAD and MO25 LKB1 complex-associated subunits. Snrk-1 is involved in multiple steps of angioblast development and acts via notch signaling pathway in artery-vein-specification in vertebrates (2).
