RANTES (CCL5) (R801-40N)

  • $165.00

Description : Recombinant human RANTES was expressed in E. coli cells and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Purity : Sample Purity Data. For specific information on a given lot, see related technical data sheet.

Storage, Stability and Shipping : Stored at desiccated below -20oC. It is stable at 4oC between 2-7 days. For long term storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For most favorable performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

Applications :  Cell Assay

Endotoxin Level : Less than 0.1 ng/ug (IEU/ug) of RANTES.

Molecular Weight : ~8.4 kDa

Gene Aliases : CCL5; SISd; SCYA5; TCP228; D17S136E; MGC17164

Scientific Background : RANTES is one of several CC cytokine genes clustered on the q-arm of chromosome 17 which are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. It causes the release of histamine from basophils and activates eosinophils. It also involved in immunomodulatory functions together with CCL5 (1). RANTES is one of the major HIV-suppressive factors produced by CD8+ cells which functions as one of the natural ligands for the chemokine receptor CCR5 and it suppresses in vitro replication of the R5 strains of HIV-1, which use CCR5 as a coreceptor (2).
