Description :Mouse Monoclonal Antibody

Species :

Tag :

Expression System:

Sequence :

Specificity :Recognizes native and denatured forms of RFP protein.

Cited Applications :WB

Cross Reactivity :Western blot RFP and its variants tag-RFP, DeRed, mCherry and mOrange, etc

Other RFP variants may also be detectable.

Host / Isotype / Clone# :Mouse, IgG1, RF5R

Immunogen :RFP from the Discosoma sea anemone N-terminal peptide-KLH conjugates

Purification :Affinity chromatography

Stability :Store at 4oC (add 0.1% NaN3) for several months, and at -20oC for longer periods. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For most favorable performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

Sample Data :Representative western blot with Anti-RFP (1:1000) using 5 μl, 10 μl and 20 μl of 293 cell lysate transfected with a RFP protein.

Scientific Background :RFP or red fluorescent protein from sea anemone Entacmaea quadricolor is a member of the green florescent protein family and is extensively used as a tag and reporter protein in molecular and cellular biology. RFP has a molecular weight of approximately 29 kDa and an excitation and emission maxima at 559 and 611 nm (1). RFP fluoresces over a wide pH range (4-10) with high quantum yield. Like other anthozoan fluorescent proteins, RFP forms tetramers at physiological concentrations.
