Description :Recombinant full-length human Integrin-linked Kinase (ILK) was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag.

Species :Human

Tag :GST

Expression System:Sf9 insect cells using baculovirus

Sequence :Full length

Genbank Number : NM_004517.4

Alternative Name(s) :HEL-S-28; ILK-1; ILK-2; P59; p59ILK

Formulation :Recombinant protein stored in 50mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 150mM NaCl, 10mM glutathione, 0.1mM EDTA, 0.25mM DTT, 25% glycerol.

Storage and Stability :Store product at –70oC. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For most favorable performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

Scientific Background :Integrins are a large-family of cell-extracellular matrix (ECM) and cell-cell adhesion molecules that regulate development and tissue homeostasis by controlling cell migration, survival, proliferation and differentiation. As integrins lack intrinsic enzymatic activity, their signaling crucially depends on recruiting adaptor and signaling proteins. Integrin-linked kinase (ILK) has been identified as a multifunctional player in cell-matrix interactions, cell adhesion, and anchorage-dependent cell growth (1,2). ILK has combined functions as a signal transducer, scaffold protein, and facilitating further protein recruitment within the ILK-PINCH-PARVIN complex (3). ILK is a potential therapeutic target for not only human malignancies, but also diseases such as kidney fibrosis, inflammatory renal diseases, Alzheimer’s disease and cardiovascular diseases (3).
