Sequence :

Specificity :Recognizes the HSP27 protein

Cited Applications :WB

Cross Reactivity :Western blot HSP27 from human cells

HSP27 from other species may also be detectable.

Host  :Rabbit

Immunogen :Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 80-84 of human HSP27 (protein accession number P04792)

Purification :Affinity chromatography

Stability :Store at 4oC (add 0.1% NaN3) for several months, and at -20oC for longer periods. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For optimal performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

Sample Data :Representative Western blot with Anti-HSP27 (1:1000) using 3 μg, 10 μg and 30 μg of HeLa cell lysate.

Scientific Background :HSP27 is a member of heat shock proteins (HSPs) which are synthesized in cells in response to heat shock and other metabolic stresses and provide a transient state of thermotolerance. HSP27 plays a major role in the increased thermal resistance acquired by cells after exposure to HSP inducers (1). The level of HSP27 phosphorylation is significantly elevated after exposure of cells to heat shock, sodium arsenite, IL-1 and TNF-α. MAPKAPK2 and MAPKAPK3 are both activated by these conditions and can phosphorylate HSP27 on serine residues (2).
