Description :Recombinant Human Eotaxin (CCL11) was expressed in E. coli cells.

Species :Human

Expression System:E.coli

Genbank Number :P51671

Storage, Stability and Shipping :Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2o - 8oC for one month, or at -20oC for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Applications :Cell Assay

Endotoxin Level :<1.0 EU/μg of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method.

Molecular Weight :8.5 kDa

Gene Aliases :SCYA11, C-C motif chemokine 11, Eosinophil chemotactic protein, Small-inducible cytokine A11.

Reconstitution Protocol :A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.

Scientific Background :Eotaxin belongs to the platelet factor-4 family of chemokines. The gene symbol is SCYA11. The factor is being referred to also as Eotaxin-1 and has been renamed CCL11. Eotaxin induces substantial accumulation of eosinophils in the skin without significantly affecting the accumulation of neutrophils. Eotaxin is a potent stimulator of both guinea pig and human eosinophils in vitro. The Eotaxin receptor is a G-protein-coupled receptor selectively expressed in human eosinophils.

Sample Cell Assay Data :Activity was determined by the ability to induce chemotaxis of purified eosinophils at concentrations ranging between 50-100 ng/mL.

Purity :Recombinant Human Eotaxin (CCL11) resolved on a 17% SDS-PAGE gel under reducing conditions and stained with Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250.
