Description :Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Species :

Tag :

Expression System:

Sequence :

Specificity :Recognizes the VASP protein

Cited Applications :WB

Cross Reactivity :Western blot human VASP

VASP from other species may also be detectable.

Host  :Rabbit

Immunogen :Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 155-159 of human VASP

Purification :Affinity chromatography

Stability :Store at 4oC (add 0.1% NaN3) for several months, and at -20oC for longer periods. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For optimal performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

Sample Data :Representative Western blot with Anti-VASP (1:1000) using 3μg, 10μg and 30μg of THP1cell lysate.

Scientific Background :VASP or Vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein is a member of the Ena-VASP protein family which contains an EHV1 N-terminal domain that binds proteins containing E/DFPPPPXD/E motifs and targets Ena-VASP proteins to focal adhesions (1). VASP also contains proline-rich domain that bind SH3 and WW domain-containing proteins. VASP is associated with filamentous actin formation and likely plays a key role in cell adhesion and motility. VASP is also involved in the intracellular signaling pathways that regulate integrin-extracellular matrix interactions. VASP is regulated by the cyclic nucleotide-dependent kinases PKA and PKG.
