Description :Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Species :

Tag :

Expression System:

Sequence :

Specificity :Recognizes the PYK2 (FAK2) protein

Cited Applications :WB

Cross Reactivity :Western blot human PYK2

PYK2 from other species may also be detectable.

Host  :Rabbit

Immunogen :Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 420-424 of human PYK2

Purification :Affinity Chromatography

Stability :Store at 4oC (add 0.1% NaN3) for several months, and at -20oC for longer periods. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For optimal performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

Sample Data :Representative Western blot with Anti-PYK2 (1:1000) using 2ng of His-tagged human recombinant PYK2.

Sample Data :Representative Western blot with Anti-PYK2 (1:1000) using 20 μg, 40 μg and 65 μg of Jurkat cell lysate.

Scientific Background :PYK2 (also known as FAK2/RAFTK) is a member of the focal adhesion PTK family. PYK2/FAK2 can be activated by a variety of extracellular signals that elevate intracellular calcium concentration, and by stress signals (1). Unlike FAK, which is widely expressed in various tissues and links transmembrane integrin receptors to intracellular pathways, PYK2/FAK2 is expressed mainly in the central nervous system and in cells derived from hematopoietic lineages. In osteoclasts, although FAK is expressed, PYK2/FAK2 appears to be the predominant mediator of integrin alpha(v)beta3 signaling events that influence osteoclast physiology and pathology (2).
