Stability :Store at 4oC (add 0.1% NaN3) for several months, and at -20oC for longer periods. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. Scientific Background :CASK is a calcium/calmodulin-dependent serine protein kinase which is a MAGUK (membrane-associated guanylate kinase) protein family member (1). CASK is a scaffold protein and the encoded protein is located at synapses in the brain. CASK associates with FG syndrome 4, mental retardation, microcephaly with pontine and cerebellar hypoplasia, and a form of X-linked mental retardation. CASK functions as a cytoskeletal membrane scaffold that coordinates signal transduction pathways within the cortical cytoskeleton (2).
