Description :Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Species :

Tag :

Expression System:

Sequence :

Specificity :Recognizes the ADD1 protein

Cited Applications :WB

Cross Reactivity :Western blot ADD1 from human and mouse cells

ADD1 from other species may also be detectable.

Host  :Rabbit

Immunogen :Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 724-728 of human ADD1 (P35611)

Purification :Affinity chromatography

Stability :Store at 4oC (add 0.1% NaN3) for several months, and at -20oC for longer periods. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For most favorable performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

Sample Data :Representative western blot with Anti-ADD1 (1:1000) using 3 μg, 10 μg and 30 μg of HEK-293T cell lysate.

Scientific Background :ADD1 or Adducin 1 is a heterodimeric protein associated with the erythrocyte membrane skeleton, which promotes binding of spectrin to actin, and is a substrate for PKC and PKA (1). Alpha- and gamma-adducins are ubiquitously expressed while beta-adducin is expressed at high levels in brain and hematopoietic tissues. ADD1 can completely block elongation and depolymerization at the fast-growing barbed ends of actin filaments in vitro and this suggests that adducin restrict actin filament length in erythrocytes (2).
