Storage, Stability, and Shipping :Store product at –70oC. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For most favorable performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

Applications :Methyltransferase Assay

Molecular Weight :57 kDa

Gene Aliases :PENT; PNMTase

Scientific Background :Phenylethanolamine N-methyltransferase (PNMT) catalyzes the biosynthesis of adrenaline though methylation of phenylethanolamine (1). PNMT gene is reported to be involved in various human diseases including early-onset Alzheimer disease (2), Parkinson's disease (3), and multiple sclerosis (4). Expression of PNMT can be stimulated by nicotine (5).
